I don’t know why, but I’m way more productive when I’m working with tv on streaming than I am working to music or in complete silence. Maybe being an only child, or never having room mates in college, or even just being a printmaker makes me simulate a social work environment.
KJ, I am with you on this one. I don’t remember watching a ton of tv when I was younger (as I too am an only child), but I do remember disliking the idea of no one talking when I was working on my art. My favorite times falling asleep when I was growing up was when my parents were still awake or had company over and I’d fall asleep to their chatter. Maybe this is where it comes form for me. I am getting to the point now where I can’t do serious contemplation with any noise at all.
